The project plans for this championship course have been prepared by the world-renowned Gary Player Design Company. The site includes a par 27 9-hole Golf Academy (pitch and putt) course, a Putting Green and a covered Driving Range which, along with the practice bunkers and greens form one of the most extensive training resorts in Europe. The total length of the field is 5674 m, par 70.
The architecture of this course, which was officially opened in 2001, is one of the best golfers in history, Gary Player. His Gary Player Design Company created a links course here. It is a course of a more technical nature which rather than in length excels in the number of water features and naturally modelled obstacles.
A championship course not just for professionals
The course in Cihelny has been host to a number of top tournaments. These include the 24th EUROPEAN BOYS TEAM CHAMP, PGA CZECH GOLF TOUR 2004, CZECH INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP 2007, Mid-amateur Tour, Audi Invitational, Pirelli Golf Cup and O2 Business Golf Tour. But it also offers the best conditions for recreational players too, and even for complete beginners. And novice players will appreciate one of the largest practice facilities in Europe, which includes:
Golf Academy – 9-hold pitch & putt course in rose-garden style open to the general public, including players without a handicap
Covered driving range, chipping and putting green, practice bunkers
Furthermore, qualified trainers are available for beginner or advanced golfers, providing golf lessons adapted to the level of individual players.
