The principle of mineral water drinking therapy consists in drinking a certain amount of mineral water 1–3 times a day according to our doctor’s prescription. The drinking therapy influences the human organism by the temperature, chemical composition and volume of the mineral water.
Different mineral waters have different effects on health. The drinking therapy stimulates the kidneys to work faster and has a positive impact on peristalsis. Drinking mineral spring water before eating increases the activity of mineral substances and facilitates their absorption. An important element of the drinking therapy is the right water intake. In the peaceful atmosphere of the spa, fluid intake is natural and the habit is then kept at home as well.
Our own mineral springs
Edward VII and Augustin Springs
Both our springs are situated near the Ferdinand Colonnade and their water is drawn from the depth of about 70 metres. They provide bicarbonate-sulphate-sodium natural acidulous mineral water, which is strongly mineralised. They have a high content of calcium, magnesium and iron. The recommended intake is 0.5–0.7 litres of the mineral water per day, preferably divided into 3 doses, drunk about 30–45 minutes before eating.
Edward VII Spring
Due to their high content of free CO2 the springs are also suitable for carbon dioxide baths, which improve blood perfusion, have a sedative effect and help to keep blood pressure under control.
